Help Me-Help Me! Please!

I’m being held prisoner of war in Minnesota. The good news is two-fold. I’m being paid for my sequestering and…I know this is excessive…but I’m buying one of these souvenir potholders for every darn one of you.

And when I’m home later this week we’ll touch on….
 A blue loafer update….
Why Toad owes me sixty bucks from last weekend…
 The tragedy of Snow Leopards…
The National Book Festival on the Mall…
Oh, and these books I found….
And why this album cover played a key role in my formative years…
 Getting a haircut this weekend.

Onward. Minnesota Nice-ly.

Should I email you my address for the potholder?

I still have that album. It was my father's. C. Sharp. Thanks for the story link!

Babe, the Blue Ox! We just made Saturday night dinner reservations at a restaurant called The Blue Ox. Kinda freaky.

My Dad had that album! I was in my 30s before I knew there was no Tijuana Brass.

Gosh you're in my backyard! If I had known you were coming, I'd have baked a cake. (would need a potholder of two to pull it out of the oven though)

I had no idea you traveled this far into fly-over country. Let me guess, Medtronic? Good luck in the People's Republic of Minnesota, comrade!

@Pigtown- MN food is only white if you eat in Lutheran church basements.

Oh I forgot, I make my chocolate cake with (drum roll please . . . ) buttermilk!!!!!

I still listen to Herb Alpert, and have gotten my kids hooked on him, too (the wife enjoys his music as well). I don't care for his later, Tijuana Brass-less years, but his early stuff is pure fun--and good music.

Make sure to eat lots of cheese while you're there! (Or is that Wisconsin?)

ADG - No thanks to the pot holder but yes please to a slice of Lisa's chocolate cake - what frosting is on it? Hurry on that haircut, 'Mad Professor' is not a good look for you especially when paired with Man in Black/Milk Tray ad polo neck sweater. In fact I'm switching over to The Trad right now for something a little less visually perturbing...

I'm kind of depressed that it's your readers' PARENTS who owned Herb Alpert albums. Feeling old now. Maybe a new potholder will cheer me up!

Yoga Teacher...Tough ain't it? I got you a Minnesota Yoga Mat.

AnonEng...Yes, you and The Trad, that other blog I ghost write, that's where you need to be for more aesthetic balance than you'll get here.

Fogey...There's plenty of cheese in both these joints.

Lisa...FedEx me the cake.

Patsy...the album cover lived under my bed from time to time.

Sheik of Araby...I go everywhere over the course of any calendar year my man. Client name? I ain't tellin'. But it's Minneapolis so the choices are few.

MegTown...don't play the race card.

MaryBeth...I'll drop it by the next time I'm either in Collegeville or Horsham.

LimeGreen...I got an email today letting me know that they are sending me a try-on pair this week just to assure the size before the finish cutting mine.

C.Sharp....thanks man!

Goodnight everyone. I'm home. Alone. Just rolled in. Somebody swing by. I'm having a Stoli, Spam and Crackers.

ADG,
I too remember that album from my youth! I think my parents still have it in a closet. I am still jealous of your A.A. collection!!

Rittenhouse...I'm gonna be paying for the A.A.'s forever.
