Today marks nine years of it.

  1. My dad saw us holidays and for a month during the summer - except that he was traveling for about half of it. I'm not making light - but it could be worse. Hard on you - but you are doing a great job.

  2. Saddest photo ever. And also a testament.

  3. Hang in there brother ADG. From what your readers can tell, you're a wonderful father.

  4. I know it's so difficult for you, but because you are such a wonderful dad/person, you make it so easy, seamless, and affirming for her. You're amazing and so is she! xoxo

  5. Maybe I'm fooling myself, but I think that it's better for a child to grow up with parents who are apart but friendly, or at least agreeable, than with parents who are together *for the child(ren)* and can't stand each other. Because the kids know. My daughter has told me about a friend in that situation, and it's awful, and the parents seem to have no clue.

  6. Hey everyone. It's all good. I know how blessed I am and comparatively fortunate. I was making more of an observation as opposed to wallowing in the unfortunate nature of it all.

I'd rather have a little bit of dad than none at all.
A question that will be with me forever--who was he?

  8. You are such a great dad. Your child is so fortunate to have you in her life and to have you teaching her what a real man should be.

  11. I know you're not feeling sorry for yourself, nor wallowing in proverbial self-pity.....but I still hurt for you just a bit. I know this isn't what you signed up for, not the way you expected things to work out. For what it's worth, I think you're a great father. And I'm sure LFG does, too.

  12. By the way, you don't have to publish that...it's just me offering words of encouragement.
