This Just In

When I was in the 5th grade, report card day wasn’t always one that found me floating home on a tide of great news. The report was always pretty good—but not always flat-out great. But I just got GREAT news from my baby girl. She made Straight-A’s …perfecto on everything for this first reporting period.
I’m so proud of her I could just bust but instead, I’ll pick her up at nine in the morning to work on an art project for school. Then I’ll leave for another week of blessings called booked business. God only knows when I’ll write voluminous drivel here again. The balance of the year sees me in Philadelphia—Dallas—Portland—Los Angeles—South Carolina for Thanksgiving—Boston—Philadelphia and then, I think, my year is done.
Onward. With a Straight-A Daughter. I love you LFG.

Congratulations, LFG! All your hard work paid off.
The added bonus is making your dad so very, very proud.

Fantastic news and great achievement for LFG!! As for your business adventures, may you find equal success in the weeks ahead with these projects. If at all possible, don't forget to regale us with wacky findings and musings from the road....perhaps sharing a "best and worst" photo expose of your fellow travelers, or a city profile/comparison? Good luck to you both for continued super news-you each will have much for which to be thankful (most of all being such a huge positive influence on one another)...

It is a special kind of pride when one's kid has a great report card. Congrats to you both.
When in Philly...look me up and I'll buy you lunch or a few drinks...

That's one of my favorite photos of the....do I see 6?...of you. Great great photo, and I'm a jealous wreck you can saunter into a Restoration Hardware any time you want. More importantly, you have heeded LPC's call and "paid attention" to this child from the start, this is the reward she gives back to you and to the rest of the world, you give her your best, she gives back her best. I'm just so proud of both of you and happy to be able to witness the process as it unfolds. You're a gem for sharing.

Your joy must know no bounds. I've said it before, but you two are doing a great job nurturing this remarkable child.

Schools are running rampant with gade inflation nowadays.

Great news LFG, keep up the good work. This type of behavior will lead you to the college of your pick. It will also lead Dad to less money out of pocket for college.

PS: LFG, tell old dad that great efforts require great payoff returns...

I am going to be super honest here, I'm not envious of your interesting writing skill, I'm not envious of the delightful clothes that you wear, I'm not envious of your collection of books and prints, I'm not even envious of your travels or the beautiful women that you've "dabbled" with, but I am envious of your relationship with your daughter . . . I should be so fortunate! Kudos to LFG!

LFG ROCKS!

I am neither surprised that young LFG aced out, nor that you did not. Little boys (own self included) have some kind of wierd short circuit that prevents us from that last litle bit of effort for that last A.

Oh, and "Huzzah!"

Three cheers for LFG!

THANKS EVERYONE BUT LET ME JUST SAY.....LFG has a mother who is equally, if not more so--given the greater amount of time that LFG is with her, committed to and and responsible for this child's current state of performance--on all levels. So here's to LFG's mama.

LimeGreen-er...thanks.

NCJack...Even an intermittent ass shipping didn't improve my performance regarding that short circuit arc.

Yoga...thanks.

Mr. Blue...thanks and I'm humbled by your remarks. I will say though, that if you'd seen some of the women I've dabbled/fiddled about with, you might be slightly, ever so, jealous.

Anonymous Gade Inflation...Man! That hurt! Mainly because you might be right. My gandaddy's daddy and his gandaddy warned of this trend. Those men, my gate gandaddy and my gate-gate gandaddy warned of gade inflation.

James...thanks...and see the comment about her mama.

Flo...thanks. And Restoration Hardware ain't all that great.

MainLiner...thanks and I will give you a heads up. I may though, be out in what I call the "Main Line Pharma/Biotech Corridor".

Gretchen...thanks and thanks for the ideas. It's not fodder that I'm short on. It's time.

Toad-Gail-Silk-Suburban....thanks.

LPC...if I can only be so lucky.

I think I saw your doppelganger in the Charlotte airport a few days ago. Unless it was you, but his hair was quite long, so I figured no. Struck quite a resemblance though, from photos of course.

Erica...it wasn't me so I pity the doppel.

Patsy...indeed...and I'm having to open every one for her.

AllieVonCaliper...thanks.

MegTown...thanks. Come see us.

SouthernProle...she got something other than Jack Rogers for her grades. I'm now waiting to see how much of it she gives to charity.

Belle...thanks. I'm dreading the drive.

Rittenhouse...thanks. I wore my Lee-Jackson cufflinks to the Union Club in Chicago. Maybe I can do it again in Philly.

Karena....thanks.

Kathy...thanks.

Congrats to you and LFG.

Don't underestimate the importance that your steadfast love, support, and attention play in her success. It is obvious that you are mutual blessings to each other.

Don't you just love that reproduction of a vintage convex clock mirror in RH? The manager was telling me that the original cost 35,000 and that it is in the collection of Gary Friedman, RH's Chairman and CEO.

I wrestling with whether or not to buy one of the reproductions less 20% during Friends & Family. I respect your high taste level. May I ask your opinion of it? Was it just a coincidence that you chose it as a background for your photo, or did it strike you as especially worthy?

Well done LFG! Take no prisoners. If I had one thing to do over, it would be to take school a lot more seriously.
