For the ,000th time let me tell you, once again, how deeply impressed I am that you and LFG's mom put these family lunches and dinners together as you do from time to time, and place to place. A beautiful thing. What the heck are you gonna wear.

ADG,
Wishing you and The Little Beauty a wonderful Christmas.

Your blog gives a gift with every post...even when the ol' ego takes over--that's what I personally look forward to =;^) and is much appreciated by me and so many others. As a bright fellow is apt to say, "Shut up".

The link below is a cartoon from my childhood (well not 1936 but the mid 50's) that I'd bet you and TLB could enjoy together. My family watches this cartoon via VHS each Christmas Eve just before bed. Please consider the link a small Christmas gift to you and LFG.

Merry Christmas, to you and the family! Hope you have a lovely night (and that you're able to keep yourself busy until LFG comes home!).

LFG has fabulous taste in color selection! Don't go all the way out to Potomac to the Old Angler's Inn- go to the Irish Inn, just inside the Beltway and just off of MacArthur, in quaint Glen Echo.

Merry Christmas, ADG, LFG, and all y'-dang-all.

May you know the joy of His blessings now, and for the rest of your days.

Even if you wear clothes that make me say, "what? I can't hear you. Your ___ is too loud."

Your words, images, and observations have been a gift for me, each day, when I can get in to read your posts. I did not peg you as a Patagucci type sir, Well done! I love my retropile bright blue cookie monster pile coat. I hope you have a terrific time at this lovely looking Inn. I have returned to our shared continent from far sunnier shores and am being lulled to sleep by yet again another endless PNW rain after having just tucked Christmas gifts (helping Mr. Claus) under the tree for my two baby girls.
We Sir, are blessed! A most Sincere and truly Happy Christmas to you Sir!

Merry Christmas to all of you too. Thanks for all of the sentiments. And...

LimeGreenGal...please...Old Anglers is cashmere to the Glen Echo Irish Inn's dacron. I'd never take LFG to a place for our annual Christmas Eve dinner if the place used to be a biker bar...One where I actually won a wet t-shirt contest after being at the Kemper Open all day.

I am awaiting my first pair of Del Toro customs. I went to their "office" in Miami Beach and I too am hoping they get their supply side a bit tighter.
Great product but it is a bitch to manufacture these days.

Check my blog for updates on the sanity of my soles.

Thanks again everyone and REALLY, I'm anything but maudlin/sad today. LFG and I had a great little Christmas connection and I'll be reveling in some down time over the next few days. It's all good.

Here's hoping your stocking is filled with all good things to get you through the coming new year. You are a good egg (that's Gentile for "mensch") and a perfect daddy.

A big wet***schmock*** on your punim!

(That sounded dirty but unfortunately it isn't)

happy christmas to you and the lil one!

my late cousin tells me stories of Old Anglers from when he and justice douglas were working to prevent the c+o canal from becoming a highway. they hiked the length of it, but the planning meetings were at old anglers.

Here's hoping the same! And yes this dear man, he is, he's a good egg mensch, but he shouldn't tell fibs about being 63 years old, heck, he doesn't even look anywhere near 50 years old, so my guess is he's more like 50, 52 max.

How about a musical selection for this Christmas Night. Bob Herbert has put us on a prayer vigil for Aretha tonight, how about a vintage tune from the Queen of Soul:

I will admit that I've never gone to the Old Angler's Inn but I would not count myself amongst those who frequent Potomac.

Yes, the Irish Inn was at one time a biker bar - I think in the 80s but it has been nicely re-invented. So don't say it's not good enough now for LFG - you are right, perhaps not for Christmas Eve dinner. It's much closer to cashmere than you think - and not close to dacron at all - memories of that wet t-shirt contest must be haunting you whenever you've visited since it re-opened as the Irish Inn.

And how can you be 60-62-69 when just last week you said you were in 7th grade 33 years ago...how silly of me...you didn't say how old you were in 7th grade (this should go with the slipper post but that's not allowing comments????)
