Cotton Flannel
Sheets and Pajamas. Kind of like comfort food for the body.
Here’s to comfort food—in all forms.
Onward. In Cotton. Flannel.

Well snuggle in, Sweetie. Sounds like you are just "worn out" from your weekend so far. ; - )
I've spent all weekend in my nightgown and lots of books and have just had a marvelous dinner of macaroni and cheese with a glass of milk. I'll face the world tomorrow.
Wearing Lanz flannel nightgown vintage 1995--->meatloaf for the 2nd night w/ baked potato--->4 back-to-back episodes of CSI and wondering why I can't look like Marg Helgenberger--->finished bottle of Greg Norman, ready to turn in, saying nite nite, sleep tite.
Decided: I'm staying in this flannel gown all day, white soft socks. Have pulled up the drawbridge, no one's going out or in. Pouring down rain and cold. I will think about MLK and revisit some of his inspirational writing; can't help being concerned at the headlines today re Steve Jobs. Feeling sad, where did that come from, thinking of the L. Cohen poem about the broken place/the crack in something, that the broken place/crack is how the light gets in.
It's impossible to wear a flannel nightgown to sleep, they grab the sheets and you can't flip around, they twist and bind, it gets too hot, I hate them in bed. But I love to throw one over my head for loafing around the house. Maybe you have something there, maybe I do feel 12 years old when I wear it.
I'm with Flo. Don't like to sleep in flannel. But I have a pair of RL pink flannel PJ's perfect for wearing around the house. I do mean around. Last week a client mentioned that her husband reported seeing me standing outside talking to some neighbors in them. But I do put a coat over them to walk the dogs.
"Throw on your man's flannel boxers and you'll think of him and know that you aren't."
Do my man's long flannel pj bottoms count [love the small green/black/white check], got em on as we speak. Cecelia, Sartre commented about your characterization of Daisy Buchanan several posts back, did you happen to see that? I'm interested in your response, if you have one.
Went to my neighborhood used book emporium and was surprised they did not have the GG. Over the weekend went to Baltimore's Book Thing and was skunked there as well...
(tried to post a comment about FSF last week but something went wrong with the interwebs.)
oldominion...I was saying to a friend the other night that Gatsby read like butter this time...more so than ever before. Not sure to what I attribute it...but I loved it. Then I downloaded the movie from iTunes. Fun.

Oh yeah....and sleep "tight". Which means you should have a bedside martini comforting you rather than that hot cocoa.

My grandmother always called flannel "outin'". She and my mother always tease me about my "outin'" gowns. Now is the perfect weather for flannel.
Just ordered a new Brethren flannel robe. It's replacing an old, comfortable, but lightning bolt level static creating fleece robe.

Flannel sheets--good.
Flannel pajamas--good.
Flannel robes--good.
Flannel shirts--good.
Flannel lining--good.
Flannel boxers--the best.
Thanks everyone...your comments just reinforce the "comfort inducing" aspect of cotton flannel. I'm still swathed in and under flannel as I type this.

I like flannel jammies (especially tartan), shirts, sheets, and boxers, but I don't like flannel nightgowns.
I've never seen an attractive one for anybody older than twelve.

Throw on your man's flannel boxers and you'll think of him and know that you aren't.

How's the Gatsby holding up?
