DOYLE NEW YORK: THE ESTATE OF DOUGLAS FAIRBANKS, JR.

DOYLE NEW YORK: THE ESTATE OF DOUGLAS FAIRBANKS, JR.
Doyle asked me to remind you of the upcoming Fairbanks Jr. auction. TinTin over at the Trad offers some advance and tasty recon as well. I’ve also given it a mention or two over at tumblr.
I don’t think this auction will have the same voyeuristic, “dab your handkerchief in the Biograph Theater blood pools of Dillinger” frenzy that the Duke of Windsor sale had years ago. But the prices will surely be strong.
So head on over to the Doyle website and bid a grand or two on a handkerchief. I did. You might wanna bid on his Belgians.
Onward.

Do you think the watch belonged to his father because the jr engraving looks different. Elegance! BarbaraG

AnonBarb...I don't think so. If it had been his dad's, I think the D and the F would have been centered. But I'd be the last to know.

MainLiner...then get yourself one. After you pony up that college tuition.

FogeyCod...I'll be at the preview Thursday night. I'll just put your name on everything.

Would love to have lived in the days of personal photographs and signature/greetings (penned with a fountain pen) - Wonder if the times were really more simple - or does it just seem that way to us now? Just wondering....
