Art Linkletter...R.I.P.
We could sure use a Linkletter or two these days. I never tire of watching this clip....Linkletter had such a gift of engaging these little people.
If anyone should see God on the other side...it's Linkletter.
Oh great memories. But you're too young to remember this show, right? Just gave me my laugh out loud moment today. What was so great about Art Linkletter was that he never embarrassed or belittled the children. Just enjoyed and loved them. xoxo
Art Linkletter and Lucille Ball had a special bond that was their children - the late 60s appeal of both is part of American entertainment history. Both put young people in high esteem and cherished their presence - they were great parents.
AllieVon... I'm disbanding the Butt Police. Doing a post about it in the morning. The sermon at church this morning was nothing BUT for me. I walked to my car thinking..."no more butt police"
Definitely before your time, but the Florence TV station (Channel 8, later 13) had the obligatory after school show with cartoons, cowboy serials, and a small audience of kids, a la Art L. And of course, Captain Ashby (Ward) one day asked a 7 year old cub scout what he was laughing at, and, also of course, he said "Harvey f*rted", right there on live TV. A truly high moment in my young life.
NCJack..."Space Ship" with Ashby Ward was still around when I was in kindergarten. I was on the show when I was about 4 or 5...it was just before Ashby Ward moved to the beach to head up the Chamber of Commerce down there.

You said it perfectly. Nothing to add but amen.
Preppy 101...I remember the re-runs that would come on from time to time. I LOVE watching the clips on YouTube.
James...indeed.

Oh and ps Allie...if I wasn't disbanding the Butt Police I wouldn't be no damned Sargeant. Generalissimo of the Derrier Detectives.
Allie & ADG - You two need to start a comedy show....a preppy Sonny & Cher act is what I envision.

LimeGreenGal...Allie would hog the spotlight.
ADG - Pilgie would hog the LIMElight!
We'd double team the spotlight :)
