My Baby Brother

  1. Is ten years younger
  2. Is six feet tall
  3. Still has all of his hair
  4. And very little of it gray
  5. But requires reading glasses. Alas…I do not. Flimsy ass revenge for all of the above.
  6. Is kinder than I’ll ever be.
  7. Has seen Steely Dan five times. I've never seen them.
  8. Has seen the Rolling Stones. I've never seen them.
  9. Beats me to the punch in telling me that he loves me before we hang up the phone.
  10. Is the baby…my mother’s baby so their rapport is unique and he “handles her” better than any of us. For this I am beyond grateful.
  11. Could give two shits and a damn about clothes.
  12. His loyalty to his childhood friends amazes me.
  13. Destroyed all of my GI Joe stuff while I was in college.
  14. Did give me back some of my Hot Wheels.
  15. I’m proud that he's my brother.
Onward. In Indiana. And it’s anything but pretty but it is billable.

Mick doesn't look a day over 500. Actually, he looks a lot younger than he is, or deserves to. Dave Barry was right- he buys his trousers in the GI Joe department. Thanks for a great clip and a great post- again.

He sounds like a swell guy! My brother feels the same about clothing and has forbade me from mentioning him again in my postings. And he took all the baseball cards without request! Damn the little brothers! But I love him anyway.

Aw! You have a brother! That is so cute. Although fairly normal, so I don't know why my cheek-pinching machines is so activated.

A nice tribute. I'm sure the feelings are reciprocated. Hope Indiana holds some fun.

My kid brother...as I am fond of telling him once every couple of years...even if he wasn't my brother, I'd pick him as a best friend. Cheers to brothers.

I couldn't wait to leave Indiana, even at the age of eight, and I was born there. That said, Indiana smells unbelievably sweet in the spring and summer. It's odd, but true.
Okay, with the the exception of all the dairy and hog farms.

Awww. That's nice. I got to see the Stones in DC at RFK stadium from like the 10th row back. I think it was the Vodoo Lounge Tour with Elvis balloons on either side. It was trippy to say the least!

The Stones were my official first concert in 10th grade. Unofficial first concert was somehow managing to get into a Dead show the summer before that with no tickets. Go figure! Man, now I feel excruciatingly old. But my younger brother LOOKS older than I do, so hey, that's something.

I've never given Indiana much of a chance. I fly in to Indy...do my work and then leave...not too different from other cities I frequent. But there's something about Indy/Indiana that leaves me flatter than hell.

MainLiner....indeed, I had a trove of GI Joe stuff and the little effer destroyed it all. But I've forgiven him...kinda. None of us, including my mom, had any idea that the stuff would be worthy silly money today. Alas, I still have a load of antique lead soldiers.

One of these days when I get some digital and uploading skills I'll take shots of my WWI soldiers and post on my collection...I certainly have enjoyed the posts on your collection.

A lovely Valentine to your brother!

I have two and they used my Barbies as targets for practice with their .22's.

(I got them back though, by retooling Barbie's wardrobe via every mercury dime and buffalo nickle in their coin collection)

Sweetest post ever. I have a baby brother. He was my mother's favorite. Probably because he's perfect and my mother would've been the first to tell you so. xoxo
