Oh drink it! In NOLA you have immunity from such poisons. Well, to a point anyhow. And, for those of us that so love that city, when strolling about the Quarter or some leafy glade, or sitting down to dine in the company of well burnished silver, we ARE home.
Jane and Lance...oh no,no,no...Gin and Tonic with lime. The perfect scurvy prophylaxis. And my clients ordered me a triple. We had a 10 minute shuttle ride to Cooking School last night.
You're down there in voodooland, Max. The spirits are restless. Tommy Hitchcock's spirit is directing you over to St. Charles Ave, my contacts say your ultimate hat is settin just inside the doorway of Meyer The Hatter, hurry up, thank me later.
I always get in trouble in The Great Elsewhere when I try to walk out of bars with my drink when I feel the need to get some air. I use go-cups on a regular basis, without any natural fibers in flames...
It may be too late, but the best menswear shop in New Orleans is George Bass. Alas, they aren't open on weekends.
QuarterRat...thanks but I'm focused more on food than clothing. I did go to Perlis on Magazine Street yesterday.
Flo...Meyer's is the first place I went when I got a break from my meetings. Alas, no Tommy.
T...nope. Flameless so far. But days always tonight.
AnonMissingNewOrleans...no, I didn't know what it meant to miss New Orleans in any way. I'd pretty much blocked it out of my journey...for personal reasons.
RyanWaldron...I just put your blog on my list and will look forward to going back and enjoying it. And thanks for saying that. I had a Chef say the same thing the other evening...I'm gonna write a story about it. And tonight...for my final evening meal, I'll be Uptown. Last night I walked over to the Roosevelt for my nightcap...Sazerac. I even put a dollar in the Deduct Box.
That 9 0z. plastic cup reminds me of Inter-Fraternity Cocktail parties every Friday at 5 p.m. "On the Hill" at Lehigh....and that is a damn fond memory!

Hello ADG:
More like the poisoned chalice, we feel! It would, we think, be very ill advised to drink that!

M.Lane...indeed.
MegTown...I'm about to go to Avis and pick up a car for just that purpose.
"I feel like I'm home."
you are.
Oh, how I wish I were! Do you know what it means to miss New Orleans? Alas.
This is going to end up with some article of your clothing in flames, isn't it?

Your clients ordered you a triple? Good clients. You've trained them well.
I'm happy to see a lime in that drink!
LimeGreener....ALWAYS a lime in my vodkee tonics.
LagunaMon...this particular client group...at least half of them were born and bred in New Orleans. Therefore, no training was required.
I want in on the Megtown/ADG northern LA road trip. We may need a driver however.
Nelle...of course we'd need a driver. What with Megtown being so foolish and all. (PS...have you ever ridden in that menagerie laden Bolbo of hers?)
shee-it, max. you should see the car now that i am on the move! wouldn't even take my mum the three blocks from my sister's house to hers. that bad.
m*town, decamping to hoes heights.
